GWEPA

Gwepa is a Salsa and Bachata team directed and choreographed by Dani Fontaine and Vaughn Wlodarczyk that is all about offering opportunities to anyone who is looking to grow both as a social dancer and performer in Latin dance styles. Some of you may be wondering “what does Gwepa mean”? Gwepa (pronounced without the G) is a cheer that could be translated to “AAAAAAYYYYYOOO”! Latin dancers all over the world do not hesitate to scream GWEPA when they see fire moves on the dance floor, and this team is precisely what this team is all about - bringing the heat.

The goal is for this year’s Gwepa teams is to perform at all Collective Showcases as well as various Latin dance events in SK, Manitoba, and/or Alberta. Come check out this team if you’re interested in seeing what the Latin dance scene is all about!

GWEPA BEGINNER PERFORMANCE TEAM

For the fall session, this team will be working on a beginner Bachata routine. This class is for people who have little to no experience in dance and are looking to perform! Classes will focus on learning the basics of Bachata footwork, partnering combinations, and performance technique. Come try the first class to see if you like it!

* Note: Numbers of leads/follows available will determine the amount of partnering in the routine.

GWEPA intermediate PERFORMANCE TEAM

For the fall session, this team will be working on a modern Bachata-fusion routine. This class is for dancers who have previous dance experience (experience in Salsa/Bachata is an asset). Classes will focus on on improving your Latin body movement, musicality, and footwork technique. Come try the first class to see if you like it!
